3rd conditional এর rules অনুযায়ী, If' যুক্ত clause টি past perfect এ হবে এবং main clause টি subject + would/ could/might + have + V3 + extension হবে। (i) If + Subject + had + V3, Subject + would/could/ might + have + V3 + extension. Example: If the police had helped us, we could have caught the robbers (ii) Had + subject + V3, subject + would/could/ might + have + V3 + extension. Example: Had I been rich, I would have helped her. N.B. বাক্যে If না থাকলে condition part টি Had দ্বারা আরম্ভ হবে।
