7. Passage Narration
Change the narrative style of the following speech.
The boy said, "I've to go to supper now. I can come again tomorrow." I said, "I'll pay you now for what you've done," thinking I should probably have to insist on an older boy. "Ten cents an hour?" "Anything is all right." An astonishing amount of solid wood had been cut. "But you've done much as a man," I said. "This is a splendid pile."
The boy told me that he had to go to supper then and he could go again the next day. I told him that I would pay him then for what he had done, thinking I should probably have to insist on an older boy. I asked him if ten cents an hour would do. The boy replied that anything was all right. An astonishing amount of solid wood had been cut. Being surprised I told him that he had done as much as a man. I again said that that was a splendid pile.
